The following donor scenarios illustrate some of the ways donors
can express themselves through charitable giving through the
SACF.
Unrestricted fund. You would like to enable the
Foundation Board of Trustees to respond to changing community
needs over time. Establishing your named fund as an unrestricted
fund during your lifetime or through planned giving will
meet your desire to address continuing needs.
Field of Interest Fund. You would like to ensure
permanent support for a particular field but do not want
to commit your money to just one organization. You may
choose to support a general area of concern, such as the
arts, education and scholarship, or health and human services.
The Foundation then makes grants to the most appropriate
program or organizations with the earnings from the field
of interest fund you have established. |

Designated Fund. You have a strong preference for the
work of one or more favorite organizations, and you want to
ensure that these organizations receive your support for as
long as they provide needed services to the Sturgis community.
Donor Advised Fund. A personal connection. You would
like to establish your named fund with the Fundation now, but
you want to make suggestions from time to time on distributions
from the fund. Through a donor advised fund, you can have an
active hand in your charitable giving. You can recommend which
organizations should be supported, such as your high school,
church or other favorite charity.
Scholarship Fund. Setting up your named fund as a scholarship
fund enables you to support scholarship awards in your name
or the name of a loved one. Valuing education.
Bequest by Will. You may give through your will, trust
or other estate planning documents to benefit the charitable
areas most important to you. |
