Welcome to The Sturgis Area Community Foundation.
The Sturgis Area Community Foundation has been improving the
quality of life and advancing philanthropy in the Sturgis Area
since 1962. The Foundation provides every person, regardless
of their means, the opportunity to support their community.
Higher Standards-The Sturgis Area Community Foundation meets
national Standards for operational quality, donor service and
accountability in the community foundation sector.
The Sturgis Area Community Foundation recently received notification
that it has met the nation's highest philanthropic standards
for operational quality, integrity, and accountability. The
notice comes from the Council on Foundations, a national professional
association based in Washington, D.C. To receive confirmation
of National Standards compliance the Foundation submitted its
organizational and financial policies and procedures to a rigorous
peer review. Meeting National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations
affirms the commitment of the Sturgis Area Community Foundation
to financial security, transparency and accountability. It says
our grantmaking includes an open, competitive process designed
to address the changing needs of our community. It also confirms
our history of honoring donors' wishes- to support the many
causes important to them and to our community.
