Higher Standards-The Sturgis Area
Community Foundation meets national Standards for
operational quality, donor service and accountability
in the community foundation sector.
The Sturgis Area Community Foundation recently received
notification that it has met the nation's highest
philanthropic standards for operational quality,
integrity, and accountability. The notice comes
from the Council on Foundations, a national professional
association based in Washington, D.C. To receive
confirmation of National Standards compliance the
Foundation submitted its organizational and financial
policies and procedures to a rigorous peer review.
Meeting National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations
affirms the commitment of the Sturgis Area Community
Foundation to financial security, transparency and
accountability. It says our grantmaking includes
an open, competitive process designed to address
the changing needs of our community. It also confirms
our history of honoring donors' wishes- to support
the many causes important to them and to our community.

information in the report are about people and organizations
who have made an impact on the Foundation, or who have
been affected by or involved in programs supported by

The White Pigeon Area Community Foundation recently
awarded 2 grants. The general fund of the WPACF awarded
a grant to the White Pigeon Downtown Revitalization Association
to assist with new welcome signs located on the village
limits, and the Adele M. Gray Fund awarded a grant to
help support White Pigeon Caring Families with their After
School Tutoring Program and the Girls Only Tea Program.
