Classroom Grants for Teachers Awarded

Updated: Jan 23, 2023

In partnership with local service Clubs, Sturgis Area Community Foundation recently awarded more than $5,000 in grant funding to support the needs of local educators through its annual SPS Classroom Support Grant program. The goal of the annual grant program is to provide teachers with resources and enhance classroom curriculum and the learning experience of students. Sturgis Public School teachers and staff are all eligible to submit requests each year in December.

To apply, applicants submit a proposal online and proposals are reviewed by selection committees from both the community foundation and local service clubs. Individuals may receive up to $500 each and group projects may request up to $500 per person.

This year, 12 projects were fully funded by the Sturgis Area Community Foundation and partnering service clubs including Sturgis Exchange Club, Noon Kiwanis, Eastside Kiwanis, and Sturgis Lions Club.
