Lindsay Richardson to Resign as Sturgis Area Community Foundation Executive Director

STURGIS, MICH., – The Sturgis Area Community Foundation has announced the resignation of Lindsay Richardson as Executive Director effective December 31, 2022. Richardson is leaving to pursue another opportunity in Elkhart, Indiana.

“This was a difficult decision that I reached after much reflection with my family. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to work alongside so many donors and community partners who invest every day in making the Sturgis area better for all who live here,” says Richardson.

Richardson joined the Sturgis Area Community Foundation as a trustee in 2017 and was hired as Executive Director in January 2019. During her tenure, the Community Foundation has expanded its grant-making programs, won grant awards from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, and was renewed as a nationally certified community foundation.

“We are extremely grateful to Lindsay for her hard work and service. Under her leadership, Sturgis Area Community Foundation experienced new growth and momentum that will allow us to better serve the community moving forward,” shares Erin Melchi-Baker, chairwoman of the foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Melchi-Baker will serve as interim Executive Director following Richardson’s departure in December. The Sturgis Area Community Foundation Board of Trustees will begin the search for a permanent Executive Director immediately.
