Lindsay Richardson will Continue as Executive Director of Sturgis Area Community Foundation

Updated: Jan 10, 2023

The Sturgis Area Community Foundation (SACF) is excited to share that Lindsay Richardson will continue leading SACF as its Executive Director. In October, SACF shared Richardson’s plan to resign on December 31, to be closer to her home in Indiana.

“After a lot of refection and discussion with staff and trustees, we are thrilled that Lindsay will remain with SACF,” says Erin Melchi-Baker, chair of the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “We are convinced that with Lindsay’s continued leadership, the Community Foundation will see further growth and success in meeting the needs of our community.”

Richardson joined the Sturgis Area Community Foundation as a trustee in 2017 and was hired as Executive Director in January 2019. Throughout her tenure, the Community Foundation has expanded its grant-making programs, won grant awards from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, and was renewed as a nationally certified community foundation.

“Sturgis is my hometown. In so many ways this community has shaped who I am. After deep contemplation, I’m convinced my work in Sturgis is not done. I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside our tremendous staff, board, donors and nonprofit partners. I look forward to the years ahead and cannot wait to see what we accomplish together,” says Richardson.
