The Frank and Ethel Kime Bogen Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 under the will of Ethel Kime Bogen.
Married in 1924 to Frank Bogen, Ethel was a devoted teacher in Sturgis. Both Frank, a farmer, and Ethel were active members of the First United Methodist Church of Sturgis. Ethel outlived her husband by twenty-three years. Upon her death, at the age of 97 she endowed funds to establish the Bogen Scholarship Fund through the Sturgis Area Community Foundation.
The scholarship is awarded annually to graduates of Sturgis High School and is awarded on the basis of scholastic excellence, all-round development, and financial need. The scholarship may be renewable.
