The Lucy A. Gallup Scholarship Fund (formerly known as the 7-30 Scholarship Fund) was established in 1997. Gallup spent over 20 years working as a librarian, having earned a master's degree in librarianship from Western Michigan University. Her lifelong hobby was writing poetry and short stories for children. Lucy was a world traveler and also enjoyed painting, crafts, and reading. She died in 2005 at the age of 93.
Scholarships are awarded to students who are pursuing a four-year college degree or postgraduate degree. Students must have completed 2 years at an accredited community college, junior college, college, or university.
