SACF offers other scholarship opportunities for financial assistance for middle school and high school athletic camps, student teachers, and business/leadership programs.

Athletic Camp Scholarships

Application Open:  March 8  - May 1

Athletic camp scholarships offer financial assistance of up to $200 for Sturgis Middle School and High School students to cover the costs/tuition of athletic camp and training programs. Submitted applications are not guaranteed to receive an award. Please read the FAQ section below to learn more about SACF Athletic Camp Scholarships. Applicants will be notified on May 15, 2024.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students applying for athletic camp scholarships must be enrolled in the Sturgis Public Schools District.

  • Students must be enrolled in grades 6th-11th on April 1 of the application year.

Additional Scholarship FAQs

  • The Athletic Camp Scholarship application will be open from March 8th to May 1st.

  • Applications are due May 1, 2024, at 11:59 PM

  • Key Information on Application:

    • You must know the name of the athletic camp or program the student will be attending

    • Dates of the athletic camp

    • The exact cost of the camp

    • Two references: 1 from a teacher and 1 from a coach. Please note their name and email addresses.

    • Current GPA

    • 200-word essay

  • No. Unfortunately, scholarships can only be applied to one athletic camp program.

  • No. Scholarships must be used for group camps and programs.

  • A reimbursement check will be sent to the address listed within the submitted application.

  • Applications to apply for a Rotary Business/Leadership Education Scholarship are open year-round. Decisions will be made within 90 days of the application submission date. Please consider the 90-day grace period when applying for a Rotary Business/Leadership Education Scholarship.

  • Key information needed to apply:

    • Program name

    • Cost of the program

    • Program start date

    • Current resume

    • Unofficial transcript (only required for current high school & college students)

    • 250 word essay

  • Applications to apply for a FORL Fund Student Teaching Scholarship are open year-round. Decisions will be made within 90 days of the submission date. Please consider the 90-day grace period when applying for a FORL Student Teaching Scholarship.

  • Student teachers who are currently in the process of completing their student teaching requirements.

  • Key information needed to apply:

    • Name of College/University you attend

    • An unofficial copy of your most recent college transcript

    • Current resume with your current and past work history, along with any community service contributions

    • When and where you will be completing your student teaching.

    • An estimate of the education costs you expect to incur during the next school year.

    • 250-word essay describing

      • Why you are applying for this scholarship​

      • An experience that led you to your personal development in high school or college

      • Your career objectives

  • You will receive an email from our staff shortly after submitting an Athletic Camp Scholarship, a Rotary Business/Leadership Scholarship, or a FORL Student Teaching Scholarship application. 

    • Athletic Camp Scholarship Notifications: May 30, 2024

    • Rotary Business/Leadership Scholarship Notifications: Within 90 days of submission

    • FORL Fund Scholarship Notifications: Within 90 days of submission
