Sturgis Area Community Foundation is grateful to share that a new fund has been established in memory of 2018 Sturgis High School graduate, Julia Zimmerman. The Julia Renee Zimmerman Scholarship Fund will honor Julia’s legacy each year by awarding educational scholarships to graduating Sturgis High School seniors with a track record of community service. The first award recipient will be selected next month in April.
About Julia
Throughout her 20 years, Julia carried a smile on her face every day, which she shared with everyone around her to make their lives a little brighter. She always wanted everyone to be happy. She loved to laugh and joke, spend time with friends and family, and travel. Malice was not a part of her character—she loved everyone and everything!
Julia marveled at this beautiful world. The oceans, lakes, rivers, beaches, and mountains. Her dreams included seeing every corner of the world and interacting with everyone she could meet.
“Everyone who was blessed to know Julia will cherish their memories with her,” shares Julia’s family. “We are grateful to share her legacy and memorialize Julia with a scholarship recipient each year.”
