Sturgis Area Community Foundation (SACF) is always a source of good in our community, but sometimes, it is also a source of healing - a way for individuals, families, and our community, to collectively grieve and celebrate life through philanthropy. Today, the SACF is partnering with the family and friends of Peyton Robert Render to do just that and invites the community to join in creating a permanent legacy for Peyton with the establishment of a new permanently endowed fund, "Playing for Peyton". Like other SACF endowments, the Playing for Peyton Fund will be a resource for charitable projects in the Sturgis area today, tomorrow, and forever. The fund will allow the Render family and community to support causes that were special to Peyton, while celebrating his life and making a positive difference in his precious memory.
About Peyton
Peyton Robert Render was born in Sturgis on September 26, 2014, a son of Cody and Michelle (Sobata) Render. A third grader at Eastwood Elementary School, Peyton did well in school and loved playing sports including basketball, flag football, and especially baseball for the Junior Trojan team. When he wasn't in school or playing sports, Peyton enjoyed time with his family, picking on his two younger sisters, and indulging a growing love for the outdoors and fishing. He adored playing with his cousins and his neighborhood friends. Peyton always had a smile on his face and was a joy and blessing to all who knew him.
How to Support the Playing for Peyton Fund
Community members or businesses wishing to support the Playing for Peyton Fund may make a gift online using a credit card. Cash or checks may be mailed or delivered to the Sturgis Area Community Foundation, 310 N. Franks Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091. Please include a note or a memo indicating that the check is for "Playing for Peyton".
